4 time best selling author, beach vibes, and deep conversations
Hard to know where to start with this brand photo session…the Florida island beach vibes, the deep and curious conversations, or the simple joy of sharing time with this author’s genuine and generous spirit.
The shoot was mostly about the launch of her fourth book. As a well established author, speaker and consultant in the field of therapy and IFS you can imagine the range of topics we touched on while shooting, having lunch, and tootling around her neighborhood in her electric golf cart (I really loved the freedom of that… it’s a slightly thrilling feeling of getting to sneak through barriers that leaves regular traffic in the rear view.)
These days authors have to do much of their marketing, so having brand photos is important for website updates, book launches, and social media.
Visual imagery goes a long way in establishing trust in a short time frame. You only have a split second these days to make an impression and capture attention long enough for the viewer to stay curious. And most authors I have photographed are also doing a combination of other things – like speaking, creating courses, consulting, podcasting or teaching.
So show and tell! Make sure your viewers and potential clients get to see all of what you do and offer, and that it’s you they are laying eyes on…not some lame stock photos that literally make the brain go into snooze mode. (Not kidding, they’ve done studies on this. The brain is really smart as it turns out).
I love shooting in different locations – it provides endless inspiration and makes every client’s brand shoot unique to them.
